Why not enhance the Victorian times or Seaside theme with a Punch and Judy show Children can discover how the Victorians entertained themselves without computers, television or cinema. A traditional Punch and Judy show followed by a question and answer or behind the scenes session or making a street scene depicting the fashions of the time.
Show lasts approx. 20-30 minutes. Curriculum activity can be a half to one hour. Longer if required and tailored to suit your needs.
PUPPET SHOW BASED WORKSHOPS
A puppet show can motivate children to write, draw and make puppets to create their own show.
Suitable for the younger age group. A story which includes singing and audience participation based on a well-known story such as Red Riding Hood. All art materials are provided. Each child can make a puppet, mask or something of your choice.
Older children will be interested in Adrienne's unusual World War 2 Punch and Judy characters which can appear in a modern history based workshop, with a script and sing along of WW2 songs, or for use in other commemorative wartime events.
WORKSHOPS TO ENHANCE ANY TOPIC
Miniature magical gardens made from a variety of resources.
The children used some of the following skills:
Drawing and designing
Discovering which resource works best ie.pva glue or sellotape
Writing about their garden creatively
ICT to take photos and make a leaflet/poster to tell people about their garden.
Year 4 children looked at the history of masks and their uses. They used modelling skills to make African style masks out of clay.
A two hour workshop can be tailored to your needs and topic. All resources can be supplied and help with display of work.
The children in year 2 discovered more about famous Olympians while watching a slide show and they made their own medals from clay. They wrote about what they would like to achieve. They also used the following skills:
